Bannerman Castle Amid Autumn’s Blush

Traveling up the Hudson River by train near Beacon, NY on a warm October day, a vision of the ruins of Bannerman Castle on Pollepel Island emerged.  Tinted in the soft blush of autumn light, the castle looms like an echo of a long-lost civilization.  Constructed in the early 1900s as a munitions storage facility, its crumbling archways amid lush foliage evoke the grandeur of ancient ruins.  The scene is reminiscent of Rome’s timeless beauty. This artwork captures the serene beauty of Bannerman Castle.   It offers a glimpse into the Hudson Valley’s rich past, natural splendor and architectural history. News About Indigo Artistic

After a few months of down time to enjoy the summer, do some traveling, and make a few changes to the site, we are back.  We are changing most pieces to include 4 options (16 x 20 and 8 x 10, framed and unframed) at various, lower price points.  We have left Twitter and are now on Bluesky (@indigoartistic.bsky.social).   Finally, we will be introducing a series of new pieces from my recent travels up the Hudson River, and to Canada and the Midwestern US.  The first of these works – from Toronto – is already available.  Thanks!

Washington Monument at Twilight

When I visit Washington, I enjoy my runs along the Mall and around the Tidal Basin at dusk, with twilight gently descending.  On one particular evening, I paused to capture this captivating image of the monument. The setting sun cast a warm, golden glow upon the monument’s western side, while simultaneously painting the eastern sky with an intriguing palette of colors.  Washington Monument at Twilight

The Timeless “Registan” of Samarkand

Samarkand is one of the great cities of the ancient world – even the name “Samarkand” evokes a sense of enchantment and wonder.  During an excursion along the ancient Silk Road route through Uzbekistan, the Registan of Samarkand was among the most resplendent architectural masterpieces that I encountered. This photograph features the Ulugh Beg Madrasah, one of three parts of the Registan complex.  The Timeless “Registan” of Samarkand
