To celebrate the first full day of spring, we present the first of two works featuring cherry blossoms in full bloom. While on a bike tour of the Mosel River wine country, I paused to enjoy the view of the river, the town of Oberfell, the vineyards mid-way up the steep hill above, and the ruins of the Thurant Castle crowning the hilltop. In Shanghai Tower Above the Clouds and Under Construction, I was staying at the hotel located in the Jinmao Tower in Shanghai (tallest building in China from 1998-2007). The adjacent and newly constructed Shanghai Tower (which became the tallest building in China upon completion) broke through the thick layer of clouds below, ascending into the deep blue sky.
