When I visit Washington, I enjoy my runs along the Mall and around the Tidal Basin at dusk, with twilight gently descending. On one particular evening, I paused to capture this captivating image of the monument. The setting sun cast a warm, golden glow upon the monument’s western side, while simultaneously painting the eastern sky with an intriguing palette of colors. Washington Monument at Twilight

Samarkand is one of the great cities of the ancient world – even the name “Samarkand” evokes a sense of enchantment and wonder. During an excursion along the ancient Silk Road route through Uzbekistan, the Registan of Samarkand was among the most resplendent architectural masterpieces that I encountered.
